Targeted Analyses are defined by stakeholders interested in adding a new European perspective to the generation of activities and development opportunities. They are conducted under Priority 2 of the ESPON Programme as a new type of projects supporting the use of existing ESPON results.

Introducing a new European perspective, Targeted Analyses provide an opportunity for stakeholders (1) enhancing their understanding of the larger territorial context, (2) making comparisons to other territories, regions and cities, and (3) hereby providing a European perspective to considerations on the development of their territories. As the first step in defining Targeted Analyses, stakeholders express their interest in particular project ideas. As the second step, the expertise is found from a call for proposals for the Targeted Analyses decided and specified together with stakeholders.

The total available budget for this call amounts to 1.795.000,00 EURO financing up to 5 new projects in a later calls for proposals.

Targeted Analyses can take the form of (1) integrated studies and thematic analyses, (2) knowledge support to innovative and experimental actions and (3) joint actions related to other Structural Funds Programmes.

Only public authorities are considered as stakeholders in this Call.

The eligible stakeholders for Targeted Analyses under the type of action (1) and (2) are:

• Groups of at least 3 regions and/or cities (minimum of 3 public authorities at regional/local level representing 3 different countries participating in ESPON 2013 Programme);
• Public authorities at national administrative levels. In this case, no minimum number of partners is required for submitting the Expression of Interest.

The eligible stakeholders for Targeted Analyses under the type of action (3) are:

• Authorities responsible for implementing Structural Funds Programmes 2007-2013 under the Objective 1, 2 and 3. In this case, no minimum number of partners is required for submitting the Expression of Interest.
