Workshop on Territorial Indicators and Indices

European policy development related to Cohesion Policy is including a territorial dimension opting at territorial cooperation and cohesion. The ESPON 2013 Programme invited for a one day Workshop on Territorial Indicators and Indices. The workshop was held at the ESPON CU premises, 70, rue de Luxembourg in Esch-sur-Alzette, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, on 2 April 2008.

The workshop aimed at providing new ideas and the exchange of experiences with territorial indicators and indices that can support policy makers in understanding territorial development and determining actions and projects in line with policy objectives for territorial cohesion. At the same time it stimulated the dialogue between scientists and policy makers.

The target group were mainly experts and scientists; however, a number of policy makers participating ensured the right mix of participants and focus the discussion on operational indicators.

In the framework of learning from experiences in preparing actions the debate and the outcome of the workshop may give input for specifying an ESPON project on territorial indicators and indices during the ESPON 2013 Programme.
