ESPON Workshop at the Metropolitan Solutions

Berlin, 1st of June 2016 - The ESPON EGTC invites to attend the Workshop “European second tier cities in cohesive territorial development” which takes place in Berlin on the 1st of June in the framework of the Metropolitan Solutions 2016, the world’s biggest combined congress and expo for smart cities.

The workshop will look at how second tier cities in Europe have fared throughout the economic crisis and how they managed to emerge of the economic turmoil. The role of these cities in supporting a polycentric and cohesive territorial development will be the key focus of the event. ESPON will present updated evidence in this respect, while the ESPON Contact Point for Germany will give an overview on the development of the urban system in Germany over the past ten years. A panel of policy makers/practitioners from second tier and capital cities will then discuss ways of reinforcing the momentum of second tier cities' development. The workshop will conclude with an informative part on ESPON tools that can be useful for cities.

As space is limited, we encourage you to register asap. Registration can be done HERE until Friday 27 May 2016 at 15h00. When you have registered you will receive a voucher code that you can use to get your free ticket.
