ESPON just opened new Calls for Proposals
The ESPON Programme has opened new Calls for Proposals. Scientists and experts representing universities, research institutes, public bodies, private companies from 31 European countries are invited to become involved in new ESPON projects. The available budget for the Calls amounts to € 1.988.000,00.

ESPON releases six new videos
Why does Europe need ESPON? How to use ESPON? What is the importance of climate change, innovation and knowledge economy, accessibility, metropolitan areas for the successful development of territories, regions and cities? The answers to these questions can be found in the six new videos. By interviewing politicians, policy makers, stakeholders and researchers, the videos translate complex themes into practical information. The videos highlight how these testimonials use ESPON and benefit from its pan-European evidence and data related to territorial dynamics. Watch the videos

ESPON starts 4 new Applied Research projects
ESPON is financing 4 new applied research projects over the coming two to three years. The projects selected by the Monitoring Committee cover a variety of themes: from the EU 2020 Strategy to Territorial Scenarios and Visions for Europe to Territorial Potentials for a Greener Economy and Territorial Governance. European Evidence related to Territorial Cohesion - New Challenging ESPON Projects for over 7 million Euro
Today ESPON (the European Observation Network on Territorial Development and Cohesion) opens new Calls for Proposals to further enlarge the Evidence Base on the development of the European territory. ESPON Contribution to the Territorial Agenda 2020 and EU Cohesion Policy
The debate around EU Cohesion Policy post 2013, the adoption of the Territorial Agenda 2020 and the evidence contribution of ESPON to the EU, national and regional policy making are in focus at the Open Seminar “Evidence and Knowledge Needs for the Territorial Agenda 2020 and EU Cohesion Policy”. The Seminar is organised in cooperation with the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
