Assistant Director - Administration, Budget and Public Procurement

The ESPON EGTC is recruiting an Assistant Director to supervise and lead the teamwork in matters related to administration, budget management and public procurement for the implementation of the Single Operation under the ESPON 2030 Cooperation Programme.

Description of the work

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Director in the sought position is to ensure the effective and sound management of the Grant Contract assigned to the ESPON EGTC for the purpose of implementing activities of the Single Operation. He/she will have a leading role in the planning and execution of the ESPON EGTC budget, its progress monitoring and reporting to the authorities of the ESPON 2030 Cooperation Programme and the ESPON EGTC Assembly, as well as in the management of public procurement and service contracts in the conducted Single Operation activities.

Profile and experience

Relevant higher education degree (Master’s or equivalent) 

More than 10-15 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 5-10 years of experience in leading teamwork

Experience is linked to the implementation of EU-funded programmes at the regional, national and/or international level

Very good knowledge of EU financial rules and regulations for the 2021-2027 period

Experience in public procurement, staff management and the coordination of administrative and human resource tasks.

Good record in working in multicultural environment and exhibit strong interpersonal skills

High organisational capacity, used to work under time pressure and ready to travel

Fluency in English and also in French
