We are thrilled to invite you to the upcoming ESPON Seminar on “small and medium-sized cities drivers of sustainable development and urban-rural cooperation”, which will take place on the 15th and 16th of November 2023 in Cuenca, Spain! Organized in collaboration with the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council, this seminar is a an event you don't want to miss!


Event overview: The seminar aims to shed light on the challenges and opportunities faced by small and medium-sized cities across Europe. These cities play a crucial role in addressing various aspects of territorial cohesion and harmonious development within the ever-changing landscape of the European territory.

The ESPON seminar brings together some of the most prominent organizations and researchers in Europe. Through different presentations and plenary sessions, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Explore the role of small and medium-sized cities as intermediaries to build public policies to fight against depopulation and bring socio-territorial cohesion.
