The German ESPON Contact Point operating in the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs, and Spatial Development (BBSR), within the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR), cordially invites local stakeholders from the Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau to participate in a collaborative workshop. ESPON in cooperation with the European Commission DG Regio organises the Workshop “Regional and Local Economies in a Changing Global Context” on 13 October 2011. The registration is now open.
At the Open Seminar "Evidence and Knowledge Needs for the Territorial Agenda 2020 and EU Cohesion Policy" on 21 and 22 June 2011, keynote speeches of policy makers, feedback from experts based on ESPON deliveries and stakeholder opinions, gave new inspiration to the most adequate support to the Territorial Agenda 2020 and future EU Cohesion Policy. Calls for Proposals for Applied Research Projects, Targeted Analyses, Scientific Platform/Tools Projects and Transnational Networking Activities will open on 24 August 2011. The deadline for submitting proposals is 20 October 2011. An Info Day and Partner Café for potential beneficiaries will take place on 13 September 2011.

How to Analyse your Region at European, National and Local Level? The ESPON HyperAtlas is now available with the most updated data and indicator sets. It is a highly sophisticated analytical tool based on the multi-scalar territorial analysis concept. With the HyperAtlas you can easily compare and analyse your region’s relative position at European, national and local scale.
