“The EU and the Regionalization of the World” The Applied Research Project TIGER - Territorial Impact of Globalization for Europe and its Regions - organises a seminar in Brussels on 2 May 2012. Experts from several disciplines and institutional actors will present the role of the EU in the regionalization of the world from different perspectives.

ESPON announces the Open Seminar “European Territorial Evidence for EU Cohesion Policy and Programming”. This Targeted Analysis aims at identifying institutional factors explaining the efficiency of public institutions in designing and implementing successful territorial development strategies in the framework of the EU Cohesion Policy. The Inception Report is now online
According to the Report, a number of factors related to education, labour market, economic situation, but also culture and gender roles influence age and sex selective migration processes.
Recent study acknowledges various ESPON reports to analyze the extent to which Cohesion Policy interventions for the 2000-2006 and 2007-2013 periods have been appropriate and effective in special types of territories.
