ESPON Tools (2011-2014) – Feasibility Study on Analytical Tools based on Big Data

The main purpose of this call for tender called “Feasibility Study on Analytical Tools based on Big Data” is to conclude a service contract that shall support the scientific platform and tools, foreseen in the framework of the ESPON 2013 Programme, Priority 3. This call for tender aims at selecting a service provider able to assess the feasibility to use open source data, including the so-called Big Data, together with official (authoritative) data from ESPON and other statistical institutes (in particular EUROSTAT) in European territorial analysis.

In particular, this feasibility study shall build up on and complement existing research and studies on this topic. As main objectives, the study shall assess which types of open data can bring an added value in providing an up-to-date and near real-time evidence on specific territorial development trends in Europe, its regions and cities, identify how this can be implemented in practice and integrated into ESPON analysis.

The services requested are further explained in the technical and administrative terms and conditions.

Budget

The maximum available budget for this contract is € 30.660,00 inclusive of all taxes (incl. any VAT related to this contract) travels and accommodations and if applicable, delivery costs.
