The CIRCTER project also carried out three spin-off studies to increase the national, regional and local relevance of the CIRCTER evidence in policy processes and developments at different scales. This spin-off aims to support Switzerland and Liechtenstein with their transition to a circular economy. Both countries have high waste management standards and together with their highly efficient infrastructure they are two of the European countries with the best waste management system in place. Nonetheless, their total volume of municipal solid waste is continuously increasing. The spin-off generated conclusions and recommendations in relation to reducing consumption footprints, business-driven circular transition and enabling markets for secondary materials.
