Welcome this full-day event organised by the Belgian ESPON Contact Point in cooperation with SWECO, CERAC and Departement Omgeving!
This event builds upon the findings of the Vulnerability, Resilience and Recovery Policies of the Physical Living Environment (VREPO) Targeted Analysis supported by ESPON. It will focus on how territories can better prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises that affect the physical living environment such as climate-related events, natural hazards, or systemic disruptions.
The morning session includes with a keynote by Hendrik van der Kamp from the European Council of Spatial Planners, presentation of key findings from the VREPO study and risk assessment from CERAC. After a provided lunch the afternoon sessions will go deeper into the Belgian context and vulnerabilities and opportunities in the different regions. The event will conclude with a networking cocktail.
