ESPON TNCOOP project covers all 13 transnational cooperation programme areas (As defined for the 2021–2027 period) with the aim to deliver clear, evidence-based insights on territorial development across these. By building a shared and up-to-date knowledge base, the project provides detailed analyses that help stakeholders better understand regional disparities and trends, primarily at the NUTS 2 level and, where possible, at finer scales.
Beyond mapping current realities, TNCOOP explores how cooperation can be strengthened by improving functional linkages between regions and identifying emerging needs and opportunities. Its findings is intended to support the future design of Interreg programmes, helping ensure they are more targeted, relevant, and aligned with broader European initiatives.
The event aimed at familiarising the audience with its main deliveries and results was organised by ESPON, and speakers included representatives of the project team and DG Regio.
