MedCoopNet (Mapping Mediterranean Cooperation Networks and Governance) is an ESPON Targeted Analysis proposed by 9 Mediterranean and international stakeholders led by Emilia-Romagna Region. The final report provides an empirical foundation to understand cooperation dynamics promoted by EU and international programmes. MedCoopNet consolidates fragmented institutional and funding data from multiple EU programmes into a comprehensive database; classifes cooperation projects thematically via semantic analysis, capturing alignment with policy frameworks (SDGs, Horizon thematic clusters) and emergent patterns from project content; and develops evidence-based understanding of cooperation dynamics across key actors, project types, themes and geographies.
